Temika Moore is passionate about advocating for artist rights. Temika Moore along with members of The Recording Academy, and those interested in preserving jazz in our community are invited to celebrate the diversity of jazz, along with commemorating the 30th anniversary of H.R. 57 a landmark piece of legislation passed on John Coltrane’s birthday in 1987, which recognized “jazz as a rare and valuable national treasure.” The event will feature Carolyn Malachi, Christie Dashiel, Herb Scott, Tosin Aribisala, Dokun Oke, DJ Heat, DJ Right and more at Ivy City Smoke House in Washington, DC 10pm-1am.
